Travelling in South America with 5 year old

Hi. Looking ahead to when we can travel again next year and wondered if there are any good travel companies who do family-friendly holidays to South America? Or is it easier to plan it ourselves? Argentina, Brazil, Chile...also when is the best time of year to go? We have a five year old. Thanks in advance. Smile

When to go depends on what you want to do, eg for southern Patagonia, avoid our summer. Brazil/chile/Argentina covers the equator to as far south as you can go so picking a perfect time is difficult! We wanted to do a lot of trekking and go far south so picked December for Patagonia, this meant we were in southern Brazil in November and it was very hot and humid. I have only been to South America as a carefree backpacker and got around by bus but there were some very long trips. If you are considering organising yourself, I can really recommend "our tribe travels" on Facebook. It's a community for travel with kids.
