Hola
Have been to greece a fair few times but am very specifically looking for the following (for next yr)

  • a villa/self catering that is easy walking distance (with small children) to a couple of tavernas for dinner
  • a really nice, high quality accommodation
  • we don’t want to drive really, so edge of a little beach/harbour village
  • really really quiet
  • sandy kid friendly beach

Any suggestions? Thank you

We stayed in Tigaki in Kos last year. It seems to tick all of your boxes. I'm pretty sure there will be some good self catering. The place we stayed at was described as self catering, but they were just rooms with a fridge, and hot plate. We don't cook on holiday, preferring to eat out.

The area is flat, there is a long sandy beach, with most of the hotels and self catering complexes just across the road from the beach, and there are regular buses to Kos town if you want to ring the changes. The town is small and low key with lots of tavernas, and as Kos is quite a small island not too far from the airport.

We liked it a lot, and would go back.

Have a look at the Peloponnese. Good fast road down from Athens. Kardamyli is popular with a certain type of middle class Brit.
