I would go for the Qantas flight so you don't have to change plane, seems easier to me.

BA/Quantas - if its via Singapore.

AussieSim · 26/09/2007 14:09

Last trip I did was with Emirates, have also flown BA/Qantas. I would recommend Dubai and do a stopover - makes the whole thing far less daunting when it is broken up! Plus better price and easier going hosties.

We're flying Emirates in 2 weeks.

Recommended to me by SIL who emigrated earlier this year, and has flown repeatedly during last 2 years scoping out area prior to emigrating.

I was told BA and Qantas were poor, Emirates and CP very good.

NorwichMummy · 26/09/2007 23:08

We flew BA/Qantas via Singapore last Nov when ds was 7mo and they were dreadful on every leg. The air stewards were really unhelpful and on one leg (Adelaide - Singapore) the bassinet was filthy when we pulled it out and we were told by the stewardess that they didn't have time to do anything about it

I would strongly advise one of the other two, probably Cathy as the leg times are slightly more equal than with Emirates. You also get a much better seat pitch and the stewards from all reports are really helpful.

We are going to New Zealand in March and have purposely chosen to fly Air NZ even thought it was more expensive than BA/Qantas.

I would chose emirates over cathay pacific - emirates is 3 7 hour legs - breaking the trip up nicely.

Heard good things about Cathay Pacific too from others who have flown.

Each time we have done the trip from Aus to UK or vice versa - singapore is our airline of choice - absolutely brilliant. Only one I have flown with children.

Another vote here for Singapore Airlines. Have flown with them a couple of times and they are great. The staff are so helpful and seem to want to help you which makes a huge difference!!

madcows · 27/09/2007 14:20

THanks for all your contributions. In fact in the end I had no choice - date had to be bought forward, and there was only one seat available on ANY airline. SO I'm going Emirates and I'm sure it'll be fine. I'm going out to donate my eggs -thus dates etc fixed fairly last minute. Wish me luck for the journey!
