DP and I are hoping to go to Edinburgh at the end of October for a long weekend.

WE've been before but this will be our first time going with DD.

Don't really have the time to trawl the net for cheap places to stay so can anyone suggest anywhere?

Last time we went together we stayed in Leith (I think!) in a lovely B&B in Pilrig Road. But was hoping for something a bit more central on a teeny tiny budget.

Thanks!

A

would you consider travelinn/lodge?
edinburgh really isnt cheap

Just had a look at the travel lodge site, a family room for £70 a night doesn't seem too bad considering it;s a bank holiday. Though flights will prob be more expensive if we go on the friday. I'd never have thought of there!

So what's a travel lodge like? I'm not very well travelled and have never stayed in one.

Thanks!!!

What about the Youth Hostel.
According to their website, the central Edinburgh hostel (and it's very central) has family rooms.

Might be worth a try.

If its in the Uni holidays they offer cheap student accomodation, I booked one of the Napier Uni flats for my hen weekend, Heriott Watt do it too, but it is out of town, Napier are right off Lothian Road

This is a nice guest house with some big rooms. It's in Bruntsfield so not completely central but not too bad, near the Meadows.

October won't be any good for student accommodation, sorry- right in term time.
