Taking a 9 month old to DisneyWorld - all the help please

This wasn't planned originally we were meant to go in August with my Nan and my 8 year old niece but the COVID came and I moved the holiday to November and then my period never came and now I'm 7 weeks pregnant, I'm going to move my holiday to November 2021 and if everything goes okay with the pregnancy I'll have a nine month old - I'm a first time mum so please give me all the help and advice you have pretty please

bring a fold able pushchair, you can get an umbrella fold one second hand. get a clip on sunshade like this, and a clip on fan like this, so that your dc is cool. You can hook water bottles over the handle of the buggy and refill them in the park, as ice water is free. Also, get a cheap rain cover for the pram.

bring snacks to the park for your dc, so they don't get cranky.

When you get your map of the park, look for the baby centers. You can feed your dc there (if you are still breastfeeding), and can change them etc.

put a sunhat on your dc and make sure to coat them in suncream every few hours.

You can do child swap at the rides, so you can wait with your dc whilst your nan and niece ride, and then your nan can wait with your dc whilst you go on the ride. more info here

oh, and when you are booking your plane seats, book the ones right at the front at the bulkhead and request a Airplane bassinet. Your dc will be able to sleep in there during the flight (you will have to check the age restriction however as some only offer these for babies up to 6 months).

Your 8 year old niece won't be able to go away in November 2021, she'll be at school. Do you mean October half term?

Plenty of people take small babies with them to Disneyworld (it wouldn't be my idea of fun though) and there are lots of changing places. I'd take a proper buggy with you - they'll sleep better. You can't take a buggy into most of the disney attractions/theatres, so you'll need to carry him/her.

Of course she can’t take the 8 year old in November. The OP can pay the fine or, perhaps she lives in Scotland where there are no fines.

Do you mean can take PP? It's not her choice though it would be her mother's and most parents wouldn't allow their children to go on holiday in November.

I'm sure op has thought about whether she can take her niece then or not. We'll be taking out children for a week of October half term, a week of November that is term time. For us what they get from the holiday is worth much more than what they miss in a week of school.

I don't see how they can justify fines for a week out of school after months out anyway. Obviously every day doesn't count does it.

@Luaa - no it counts even more than before, normally, I'd agree with you, but children have missed so much schooling and a trip to Disney is not educational.

Disney is going to be awful anyway in October half term (we've cancelled), walking round in a mask, no fireworks, no waterparks, less interaction with characters, no fastpasses, less rides and shows open. Why would you pay all that money and go? Disney haven't reduced the prices.

It's 2021 that the OP has moved the trip too. Not this November.

I think moving the holiday slightly earlier is a good idea OP - October or maybe August 2021.

Not so much because of term time, but because a 6 or 8 month baby will be easier to transport than a 9 month old. A 9 month old will be wanting to get mobile or maybe crawling already and may get very frustrated on a long plane journey or kept in a buggy for long periods.

Also a 6 month old is still mostly having milk, not much food, which makes things easier than trying to find or bring baby suitable food.
