This will be the first time away with both DS1 and DS2 (the first time we went abroad with DS1 he was 9/10 months). Anything in particular which we need to pack?
DS2 is breastfed so luckly dont need to worry about bottles/forumla etc.
TIA.

swim nappies and sun suits

Caroline1852 · 23/09/2007 11:15

hats, a pushchair with a sunshade, a bumbo - brilliant for on the beach

LIZS · 23/09/2007 11:17

small paddling pool so he can splash safely near you or float boats etc .

compo · 23/09/2007 11:18

sun cream

aDad · 23/09/2007 11:19

medikit
mosquito stuff
sun cream
regular bed time things - teddy bear, stories
as many books as you can pack.
snacks and entertainment for your 2 yr old on the plane - sticker books etc.

buy your bucket and spades out there.
Same with nappies - just take enough for the journey and a couple more.

jennifersofia · 23/09/2007 11:20

easy to apply non-sticky suncream
spare ziplocs for things to bring home, wet clothes, etc.

francagoestohollywood · 23/09/2007 11:21

best tip of all - have a lovely time!

BrownSuga · 23/09/2007 15:22

just got back from crete with our 4mo. he got around in nappies for most of the hol, so didn't need as many clothes as we thought. then just had him in t-shirt and shorts, or only a vest in the evening. also got him one of those baby warma wetsuits so he could stay in the pool/sea longer.

def second the pram with babe shade, then he can nap in it while you're by the pool.

Has anyone used a UV tent? Is this something worth getting for the 4 month old, or is buggy plus parasol enough, I can't decide?

Spare hats, beach shoes def worth getting for toddlers. The UV suits are great, picked up a few xheap ones while I was back in the UK so you should be able to find some bargains.Activites for the plane, nibbles for the plane. Sunshade for buggy/pram. Can't think of anything else but have a great time

McDreamy · 23/09/2007 17:27

When we moved out to Cyprus I bought a UV tent and have used in once in 2 years!!!

Pannacotta · 23/09/2007 20:53

Thanks McDreamy, can you remember where you found the UV suits? Am v short of shopping time now (mild panic is setting in...........!)

Mosquito net (as well as Jungle Juice (or similar) repellent, Antihisan & plug-ins).

Very important: pack of 2 foam anti-door-slam horseshoes (from Boots, eg) - we've taken them on every holiday and they've been invaluable - everything from stopping the open window banging to fencing-off the hideously sharp corner of a glass coffee table. Ds and dd are now 8 and nearly-7 and I wouldn't travel anywhere without them.

Otherwise - Malta is weirdly British-suburban - lots of bungalows named after England football grounds - and you'll be able to get everything you need there.

Pannacotta · 23/09/2007 21:10

Thanks Bink, the horseshoe things sound great.
