Do any of you know any hotels in London with reliable baby-listening services? Would prefer a 3/4/5 star hotel in central london with a decent restaurant (and room service if it all goes pear-shaped). I must be mad but we're thinking of going to London with ds (9 months) to do a spot of Christmas shopping in December...

It's a bit different for us as we have older "helper" children but I would imagine that lots of hotels would work with a baby monitor - I've seen lots of others use them but always been a wuss myself and ended up with baby under table! I can vouch for the friendliness of the staff at the Sheraton Belgravia even when one of my children had a "moment" and it's handy for the shops but we didn't eat in.

I don't know about baby listening, but we had very child-friendly service generally and a good bonded babysitter arranged by the hotel at the Sofitel St. James - also, good weekend rates, good shopping/theater location, and an Albert-Roux brasserie in the hotel.
