We went to the Marriott in Taba three years ago just before DS1 came along. It was a lovely hotel. Very luxurious although we did have a room upgrade so not sure what the standard rooms are like. When we went there was nothing to Taba itself but the five or six hotels so beware, it is not your standard resort. It might be different now. It loked like there was a lot of development planned.

All pretty good fairy- my sis lives out in Cairo & goes to Sharm quite a bit. I'll ask her foraosme recommendations. Even the poshones are quite cheap compared to Europe & you can get some good deals with hotel & flight packages.

We've been over in Nov it's fab! Didn't make it to Sharm but the Egyptians are lovely people, veyr firendly & family-orientated.They love kids & be warned if you have DC's with blonde or red hair, they are like pop-stars!! Alaring atr irst but then you ralise it's genuine interest & admniratioon. Great for getting free goodies & extra-good service in restaurants!!

We went to Taba Heights last year. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency. It was the best hotel I've ever stayed at in my entire life. Amazingly good. And we only paid something like £350 pp for the week.

Check out hotels on www.holidays-uncovered.com

That's how I found the Hyatt.

we stayed at the ritz carlton in sharm el sheik and it was an amazing hotel. wonderful staff, wonderful food, fabulous sunbeds(wooden, not plastic, and had thick comfy cushions on them)

Hubby and i are planning on going back next year we loved it so much.
