Anyone in Cumbria next weekend should try to get along to the Apple Day at Acorn Bank, Culgaith near Penrith on the Sunady 17th. An excellent day out with dozens of different apples to taste, Morris dancers, Punch and Judy, Steam engines, face painting etc etc. We go every year and it just seems to have so much of what is missing in modern life...
