Barcelona help pls! Hotel room with outdoor hot tub

I’ve always taken the children for one week pure Maldives indulgence. However this year - I fancy something different and I think the children are old enough to be able to do things like bike city tours etc (they will be 8 and 10).

I am looking for a hotel room with a kitchenette. Also I’d like the hotel to have w roof top pool. Plus I would like a very central location.

I can found a fair few that meet the above.

But - I would like to surprise the children with a private outdoor hot tub too. And very very slim pickings!

Can anyone assist please?! Not worried about budget as will only be for 3 days and will certainly be less than our Maldives holiday!

Many thanks

Aren't we being advised to not travel this year? Or am I imagining it? More so, why would you want to travel abroad this year? Is the level of exposure really worth 3 days of cycling abroad when you could be doing the same thing in the UK?

Look at the U232 (or something like that) I stayed a few years ago in the most dreamy suite with a hut tub that was behind bifolds that opened over the city, and had a private terrace.

Are you prepared to go into quarantine for two weeks when you come back?
Is this posting a joke?

Sodamncold · 14/05/2020 08:22

Is it a joke? For goodness sakes, this is a short thread. I’m travelling June 2021

Thank you puddle juice. That sounds ideal. I’ll be back if I can’t find the hotel! Thanks

If you're booking for June 2021 then I don't see a problem. Who knows what rules and regulations will stand then, it is 13 months away after all!

A slight issue might be that foreign countries could be refusing to take travellers from the UK given our track record in dealing with COVID-19 thus far. I'm assuming you will be wanting to travel in the EU as it's a short trip away.
I would also bear any post-Brexit changes in mind but god only knows what'll be happening then...

With this in mind, wait until the end of the year before booking to see whether UK travellers are welcome.
Only put a deposit down initially, make sure you use your credit card, check your insurance policy carefully & hopefully you'll have a lovely holiday to look forward to next year!

I have stayed here and they have hot tubs on the balcony, it’s slightly out of Barcelona up the mountainside but they run a shuttle bus.

Sodamncold · 14/05/2020 08:55

Bojo thank you
Was it a pain getting the shuttle?

Bojohair · 14/05/2020 08:59

Not at all, it ran regularly and there are also lots of taxis too. It was a very short journey and drops you right in the middle of town.
I preferred being slightly out of the noisy areas at night.

It has a fabulous swimming pool with views over the mountains and the service was impeccable, this was a couple of years ago.

fairycrossthemersey · 14/05/2020 09:06

Ooh we have been to the Florida too.

The shuttle bus service is great and it is lovely to be out of the city.

Alos, you can walk along the hilltop to Tibidabo which is a fairground on the top of the hill.

The infinity pool where you can just gaze over the city is amazing.

Sodamncold · 14/05/2020 09:10

This sounds perfect
Suitable for 8 and 10 year old?
Was there a kitchenette in the room? I like to splurge on the room but then I save by doing simple breakfast in the room. And maybe even simple dinner on the terrace for one or two of the nights

There were children there but I was without mine for this stay, I am not sure about kitchen facilities, our room didn’t have them but we went in to Barcelona for breakfast and dinner. It might say on the website for the different types of rooms.

fairycrossthemersey · 14/05/2020 09:52

Don't know about kitchenettes (I didn't even know about the hot tubs - but we got a very cheap groupon deal)

Lots of kids there when we stayed.

fairycrossthemersey · 14/05/2020 09:53

We can drive to Barcelona in 4 hours from where we are - wish we could just jump in the car and head off there now!

The EU were announced measures to have some form of summer season this year yesterday. I think it's reasonable to plan for 2021.
