Where to go for Xmas at 6mths pregnant?

Need ideas please - dd is going to be at her father's this Christmas - when she was there 2 years ago, dh & I went away as we couldn't face being at home without her at that time of year. We had been planning to do the same this year but as I will now be 6mths pregnant by then we're a bit stuck as where to go. We would have opted for somewhere warm and sunny (to escape the miserable weather) but really don't think long haul would be a good idea now. As it will probably also be our last holiday alone together for some time we are not overly concerned about the cost - anyone got any good ideas please?

the most obvious shorthaul destination that springs to mind is the Canaries, I'm afraid! turkey/tunisia might also be hot and warm and not too far away, but I would favour the Canaries hygiene wise/medical care wise at 6 months PG.

Dubai!!!! I would love to go there! I know its about a 7 hour flight but thats not too bad and it will be glorious!

Four seasons - sharm el sheik, Egypt. A lot of couples I know have gone and raved about it. Not overly expensive, blinding service.

Westcountrygirl - we did Dubai the first Xmas dd was away! It was wonderful - in fact, it's where we got engaged and we've been back twice since then! Tbh though, i was thinking that even 7hrs flying is too long, also, last time we went, there was LOADS of building work going on so not quite as nice as previously. We actually don't necessarily need to go somewhere warm - just nice and luxurious! Even this country would be ok. The idea is just to get away from the 'family 'Xmas' at home so we're not reminded too much that dd is not with us.
Thanks for suggestions so far.

Are you real sunseekers? Its just that a night (or two if you're rich) at Le Manoir in Oxfordshire would be everything I would want - cloase enough for travel etc. not to be an issue, but a totally different world.

Oh well I can live vicariously through you

Hmmmm, in that case, I have spent 2 Xmas' in Germany and one in Holland and both were great, really Xmassy Xmas', LOL.

I also fancy Madeira but not sure what it is like at Crimbo...
