A long shot but anyone used the in room baby sitting service at Jumeira Beach Hotel (Dubai)?

We are going at half term.

Dh has booked an in room baby sitter (via the hotel) so that we can go out somewhere different for a meal, and I know it is silly but I am not entirely comfortable with the arrangement...

OK it's a top hotel and I would hope they have extensive vetting procedures for their sitters, but the legal requirements may be different to here. For instance CRB checks etc

Anyone used the baby sitting service at the Jumeira Beach? (I appreciate it's a long shot but there may just be a Mner with personal experience of it)

I've been there (one opposite the Burj right?)
We had one in the day to mind ds when we wanted to go to Wild Wadi with dd and she was a lovely Filipina matron.

There are lots of restaurants within the hotel which is a cracker btw.

We took our kids to eat with us at night.

Ah,you see we want to go eat at the Burj - and have dinner there. Wouldn't really be the right environment for the children. Imagine it's a bit more stuffy about loud boisterous 3 year olds than Jumeira

So from your experience you were pretty comfortable with the sitter then...ummm, perhaps I can be persuaded. Dh is certainly very miffed with me for having misgivings and potentially scuppering the plan to eat at the Burj

Yes.
Our friends were at the Burj and we spent a day with them (surbloodyreal).
I am the ultimate paranoid parent but I would trust these women. They are lovely Indian/Sri Lankan SE Asian people who view their jobs here as a once in a lifetime opportunity (make of that what you will) and will not fuck up.

Burj is literally over the beach.Within sight.

Jumeirah has fab looking seafood place on a jetty too.

Would it be bad of me to do a quick at the lovely holidays you go on, hmc?

Have a great time!

handlemecarefully · 15/09/2007 22:13

Thanks emkana we will

Moondog - my dh will be eternally grateful to you when I go and tell him that I am okay with it

Ah yes.
We should have done it too but ds was so new and I was completely freaked having flown in form a fucking Arctic winter in Kurdistan.

You go over in a golf cart and will be greeting by flunkies wafting incense and prferring dates.
It is bloody bonkers Dubai.

lol - I shall be in surreal mode in preparation for it
