It should be lovely, not too hot and also a bit peaceful before the summer crowd arrives.

we are going next may to Cala n Porter, we went last year to Cala n Forcat in oct, so will be interesting to see what the weather difference is.

Should be nice - the Med used to be reliable for sunshine from March onwards, but you might get little rain in May. BC, DH & I used to go every year in May & always had lovely weather, sunny & not too hot. However, thanks to this global warming mallarky, which has beggared up weather worldwide, it's not reliable any more. We went to Sardinia in May this year and all but two days we had howling gales. They'd had similar in Aug last year, both unheard of before. So, go for it, but be prepared for Scrabble in your hotel room...

i agree about extreme weather conditions at the miment. we have actually just come back from our first visit to menorca, and i was told that september can quite changable. however it was boiling hot, all day, every day!!? have never actually been abroad anywhere in may before, but we loved menorca so mush the prices for may are very tempting!!

We went to majorca at end of may tis year, assume climate pretty simular. We were there 8 days and 1 day where it was overcast and quite windy and another day where it was lovely and suny but windy and on those evenings we needed jumpers, however the rest of the time it was perfect, dc's are 5 & 8 and temperature was perfect, we were outside watching hotel entertainment most nights until about 10 and were in shorts and t-shirts apart from aforementioned 2 nights. We are already fairly sure we'll re-book same time next year

Oh good question - are thinking of booking Menorca for end of May too! Those of you that have been/are going - where are you staying and who did you book with? Tis a long time since we did abroad - dd's never been on a 'sun' holiday abroad - am feeling a tad unsure where to go etc.

Novacane · 24/09/2007 14:49

I am in Majorca now, been here since Sat, and today is the first day we have seen the sun!
There have been horrendous storms, the hotel people said it is very unseasonal, but happening more and more often.

Good luck vibes for more nice weather needed please!

We went to Menorca in the middle of May last year. It was lovely weather, about 25 c in the day so perfect for the beach and by the pool. Then it was still warm and light enough in the evenings to sit out to eat. I would definately go again at that time of year.

We are going in May for 2 weeks. We went about 5 years ago in May and although we had a couple of overcast mornings it was generally very warm and sunny.

Sparkly what was Cala N'Forcat like? Did it take ages to get there from the airport (going on tour operator bus).

Fimbo · 24/09/2007 14:57

We are going with Thomson to the Taylot Apartments.
