First Choice Spanish Holiday Villages

Hi

We are thinking to moving our holiday we had booked to June 2021, hopefully the borders will have reopened, but who knows.

We have not been to a First Choice Holiday Village before and was going book the Costa del Sol one however the Tenerife HV is around the same price.

Which one is best for younger children (10&6)

We appreciate that there are more pressing matters in these unprecedented circumstances and a holiday is a luxury which pales into insignificance in these challenging times, however we are just trying to look ahead where possible.

TIA

We have gone with the Costa del Sol HV hopefully we will be able to go. If anyone has been and has any thoughts or tips would be appreciated.

We went to Costa del Sol one but was a few years ago now - did couple of trips to Gibraltar from there which we enjoyed. Facilities were fine, rooms were fine - maybe more geared to a 6 year old than 10 year old. Food was average - fine for mass catering but nothing out of the ordinary. When we went in the Tripadvisor reviews there had been periods of lots of food poisoning - when we stayed it was fine. I was careful what I ate, DH wasn't and all fine. I did meet someone since who said there child was ill for 3 months with food poisoning from staying there and First Choice had refunded whole lot after action a group of them had taken who all got ill at same time. Would be 5 to 10 years ago now, the Mum was at our school and quite honest. Hopefully food issues are resolved now and would facilities are fine but maybe check for latest food reviews. Though normally TUI stop using a hotel if consistent issues. Everything looked very clean including food areas when we went and all food looked fresh.

Not been to Tenerife one. Been to a few of the others - Magic Natura was great, food goodish, had a waterpark, not so good for trips out. Ones in Menorca and Majorca were fine, stayed in the one in Salou linked to a waterpark, waterpark was further, fine but more of a trek to waterpark than others, Estival Park. Also been to Cyprus one which was fine and food was very good there. When my kids were 6 plus they preferred the ones with waterparks attached but they are all fine for a fun rather than cultural holiday.
