Villa in Portugal this summer

We've put a deposit down on a villa, booked flights separately.
I think the flights will be cancelled and not too concerned about getting a refund from them, but what about the villa?
The balance will be due in June, obviously not going to pay it, but if I cancel now, I will only get 50% back.
Any ideas?
I hadn't got round to sorting insurance unfortunately Sad

50% back is better than nothing. Martin Lewis is always bashing on about taking out insurance at the time of booking. Even if cases start slowing would you really fancy going abroad during a pandemic?

No, there's no way we'd go, and we were daft not to sort the insurance out straight away, we know that!
I agree that 50 is better than nothing, if we leave it later we'll only get 25%. Dh thinks we should hold out for them to cancel, but I don't think they will do that.

Ahh I see. No I don’t think they will. They are losing the whole of their seasons revenue, they will be probably be hoping everyone leaves it as late as possible so they can keep as much as they can.
