Bottled water for babies in France

Before I went away there was something on here about not giving bottled water to babies on France and having to buy special water from the Pharmacy to use in formula.
I have found out that most of the bottles of mineral water have a baby bottle sign on the label indicating it is safe to use for bottles of formula etc.

A friend of mine who lives in France has used evian straight from the bottle to make formula since her baby was born. I think bottled water is OK provided it has a low sodium content.

I don't know who said that, but it's rubbish!

As you say, varieties of bottled water that are suitable for babies carry a logo (which is most of them - only those with a very high mineral content are not).

Evian is a popular choice.

It's almost unheard of to use boiled tap water here though.
