We've booked, flying from Glasgow, staying in hotel for 2 weeks, with a third week with relatives, costing around £2500. Four of us, 2 adults, dd will be 14, ds 6. Not including tickets for parks which I think are around £180 for Disney each, so prob at least £1000 for tickets for the attractions. Spending money, food etc, I would guess around £5-6k

(I reckon that's a conservative estimate- no shopping included!)

toomuchtodo · 08/09/2007 17:29

wow, thats a lot!!

wonder if there's any way to do it cheaper?

If you go to the Virgin Holidays website you can ask it do do a quote for you.

The Dibb is also full of information and may have some ideas on doing it cheaper.

You can buy park tickets before you go and get unlimited entrance with them. They work out a bit cheaper. Hope you get too go, we went last year and it was great. Mum paid for us

You should be able to make a reasonably accurate estimate.

For example, checking out the airline websites, you may be talking about flights of around £500 each, with car hire around £50 per day.

Hotels are around $50 - $100 per night, depending on the quality/location. You can get cheaper though, but would need to compromise.

Eating out is the one area where you notice the bargains - probably under half the price of the UK.
