What would you do?
Jet 2 have cancelled our flight back from Verona in August, scrapped all Wednesday flights (a coincidence with all the Corona stuff going on?) so now I can either change my original 11 nights to 7 or to 14. They will pay admin fees, but not extra flight costs. We have booked accommodation separate and she is willing to let us do whatever.
My husband says let's cancel flights and postpone until next August (21), which apartment owner is willing to do. Then I have the other half of me which says let's change to the 14 nights this year in the hope that all has blown over by then, but we then have to find the extra money for 3 nights accommodation and the extra flight money. All to maybe get cancelled again at a later date. My head's pickled!!

Will Jet2 refund the flight costs based on the fact it’s their cancellation? You’d get the return flight costs at least refunded I’d assume? If it was me I’d go for the extra nights option (and possibly if the apartment is free to cancel look at something cheaper!) but I think my DH would be thinking along your DH’s lines as he’s been crisis planning at work and going on Lloyd’s advice believes by August we’ll be seeing a downward turn in case numbers but not be out of it.

SJaneS48, I'm not sure what they will refund, I know definitely the return flight as it's no longer running, obviously struggling to get through to them at the moment.
I don't really want to cancel the apartment, as it's a private one and thinking it's her livelihood. It took me ages to find that one! I think it's just going to be a make a decision and stick with it. It's just awful to think how the world is going to be in the next few weeks/months, frightening, so many people's jobs/business gone. 😭

I would postpone until Aug 21. This isn't going to resolve itself quickly and at least that way you have your holiday to look forward to albeit a bit longer away than originally planned.

rookiemere, thank you, I think that's the decision we have made. It's fairer on the apartment owner, if we defer to next year and let her keep the deposit and hope, u don't want to rearrange to then, have to cancel altogether, at least we can plan something hopefully in this country.
