Gran Canaria or Majorca

Dh and I are looking to go away for a week in early June for guaranteed sun. Which will be best of these 2 - Gran Canaria or Majorca? We’ve had a really tough run and need a relaxing lying in the sun week away - going first week in June. Thank you!

Gran Canaria will guarantee you the sun more than Mallorca just because it is significantly further south.

Definitely GC for guaranteed sun. Canaries are off the coast of Africa

Went away that exact week couple years ago to canaries, had awful weather. Went away that same week to Majorca about 5 years ago and was glorious. It's hit and miss

I’ve been to Majorca in early June and had great weather - but have also been when it rained a couple of days

I've done both, Mallorca is beautiful, we took our then 10mth old DS and the sea was so warm, gorgeous place to walk around, also went as adult group of friends and absolutely loved it, really nice food.
I wouldn't go back to GC, I may have chosen the wrong resort but found it really tacky, low end bars, dry and dusty, really not great.

I'd choose majorca over gc any day, but sun much more guaranteed in gc. Tenerife and lanzarote are much nicer than gc imo.

Depends which resort you go to. Didnt like tenerife as too high rise, and whilst restaurants were nice you had to book. lanzarote love for a week in the winter..know its not everyone's choice. went to mogan in GC and it was lovely. other resorts in GC not so great.

Majorca went to 30 years ago and vowed never again. Been back recently and yes it was lovely but we can get an amazing villa elsewhere for price of an average apartment in majorca
