Passport replacement

My DD has helpfully done this the whole way through my boom. Actual photo page untouched though. Do I need to replace under damaged or can I just do a standard renewel? Was up for renewal soon anyway luckily

I'd just do a renewal. It would be the same process for both anyway.

If it is classed as damage then technically I need to get countersignatures etc which is why I want to be sure

www.gov.uk/renew-adult-passport/replace from here:
You’ll need to ask someone toconfirm your identity onlineif you’re replacing a lost or stolen passport

Yep you need a countersigned photo if the passport is actually damaged. I argued this as I didn’t need it a few years ago ( all online including photos). But DH washed his and needed photos for the new one done.
£177 ( ffs) later and his passport was done in 2 days,

I don’t think yours is damaged. However a phone call will ascertain what passport people think.

You only need countersignature if the passport is missing or the photo is damaged so you couldn't be recognised from it. Read the link above
