Holidays
October half term, but not the canaries.
hurryupautumn · 23/02/2020 16:16
I'm thinking of taking my daughter (10) away for October half term. It will just be me and her. I want somewhere warm with pool, beach etc.. but have done Tenerife, Lanzarote etc to death.
Can anyone recommend anywhere warm but a bit different in Oct?
Thanks in advance! Xx

We went to alghero. Friends have been to the south. Olbia is where the rich and famous go. Enjoy. We hired bikes and did lots of lovely rides on empty roads

@user1494050295 - I was just looking on Thomson website at both resorts, it looks so pretty.

@TheMammothHunters - hadn't thought of Cyprus. will have a browse.

Morocco. Same flight time as the canaries. Gorgeous weather

We went to Cyprus last year. an absolute stunning island with tons to do but the weather was mixed. We had days with high twenties but also rain and just 18-20. Even on warm days it got chilly in the evening.
As we planned it as a sightseeing holiday we didn't mind as much.
How about a city break? We plan Rome/Pompeji next year, obviously not the sunny beach holiday though.

Thanks @reluctantbrit - well I went ahead and booked a week on Majorca for August. Couldn't resist! I do want to take her somewhere in Oct still so a city break would be lovely! Xx

Another vote for Morocco. You’ll need a jumper in the evening but gorgeous during the day.

Mauritius. There’s some super deals around at the moment.

@Zodlebud - oh now THAT sounds good - is it too far for one week though?
Zodlebud · 26/02/2020 09:59
If you fly direct with BA then the flights are overnight there and back. 10 nights is perfect but 7 is do-able. You just don’t want to have to be connecting in Dubai or something.

@Zodlebud oooh thanks for the tip! I'll take a look x
