We are going away next week to self catering place in northern italy. ds is potty trained but is too short to use the big loo on regular basis. Do you think we will be able to buy a cheap potty out there from equivalent of tescos (think place we are going to is quite rural) or do we need to pack our own?

Whereabouts are you going ? Even by the Lakes the main towns have a supermarket where you will find one or if not in a chemist, Chicco store or department store.

You'll find one in just about any pharmacy for a couple of quid. Even small villages nearly always have a pharmacy. HTH
