All inclusive holiday resorts - any one been to Beaches?

I have only the October half term break for me and the children (16, 10, 4 & 1) to spend together before I emigrate with the three younger ones. My dd1 will be staying with dh to finish her studies. We have decided to do an all inclusive break (we only have one week) like Beaches but I am a bit sceptical of all the glossy travel brochures which promises all but delivers none. Has anyone had any personal experiences of these types of resorts (not too fussed where) that will take the younger one (nursery/creche) keep the 4 & 10 occupied while I relax when I feel like but still have something for us to do together as a family. Apologies for the length of this thread but we have been through a bit and I really want us to have a good time. Your experiences please.

Apparently Beaches is fantastic. I haven't been but know people who have. Very pricey but if you are looking for somewhere that will keep the family entertained and money is no option this is the place for you! Just check that the 1 year old will be able to go to the creche as sometimes they are for over 2's only.

We went to beaches in Jamaica feb 06.My 9yr old son says its the best place he has been to(they have an airconditioned X box room about 10 x boxes). You can also book a seasame street breakfst which my 3 yr old loved. They do have shows on through out the day, plenty of good activities and nice pool and restaurants.
However having been on a 5 star cruise on the previous holiday service in comparison wsa sloppy(wrong drinks, coffee machine broken for 3 days etc.) I also complained about the kids club. My youngest wouldn't go.the staff seemed half hearted and the agenda wasn't followed kids lkeft to own devices without stimulation although the supervisor was fantastic and assure me it wasn't to normal standard. They provided us with a complimentary nanny during the day.
If you are by yourself I'd go.
