Tavira - where to stay

Hallo, I’m going to Tavira for a long weekend with a couple of friends and am looking for an air bnb. I’m finding it quite hard to get a sense of whereabouts we should be, can anyone give me an overview of good areas to stay or to avoid? We are three tired people who will want to do a bit of swimming and reading with some light sight seeing and hanging out in cafes

Tavira is lovely and anywhere along the coast is great like Fuseta a bit further away but gorgeous or Cabanas which is really near Tavira. Last time we stayed in Cabanas and got a Tuk Tuk your to drop us off in Tavira great fun!

Tavira isn’t huge so anywhere central I would think would be fine. It’s a nice old city with lots of bars and restaurants - if it was me I wouldn’t choose anywhere on the outskirts and pick somewhere you can easily walk back late at night. As a town it feels very safe walking around in the evening and food wise you’ll have lots of choices. The train station isn’t that far out from the centre - you could go into Faro of an evening too.

Not AirBnB but we stayed here last year and it was lovely! www.pousadas.pt/uk/hotel/pousada-tavira
