Algarve October Weather

We are looking at a villa for October in Carvoeiro Portugal. Has anyone been able to swim in the sea and or an undeated pool in October? The villa we are looking at has a pool, but it is unheated. We swim in the sea in Cornwall where the temps were only around 17 degrees, and average temp looks warmer than this - not a massive prob if we cant use it but want to manage the kids expectations!

We have a property over the border in Spain ( we fly to Faro) and we always use the pool in October , even though it’s unheated.
The kids sometimes wear shortie wetsuits in the sea though
It’s usually 20 degrees plus and occasionally it gets into the mid/high 20s
