We are travelling to DLP via Eurotunnel in April. We have around a 5 hour drive from home to Folkestone so we are planning on doing this on the Sunday and travelling across to France Sunday evening so that we can get up Monday morning and head straight to DLP.

We want to stay somewhere around half an hour away from the Eurotunnel so not too far to travel when we arrive but will cut off a bit of time the next day when we leave. Just looking for any recommendations please for areas to look at please

There's some lovely beaches along the coast east of Calais. We tend to stop at Touquet-Paris-Plage when we go to France, but for a couple of days, not just an overnight. The beach there is beautiful, and there's loads of nice restaurants and bars along the Main Street. If you end up there, and want to check out the beach, the beach near the harbour is your traditional flat beach, lots of water sports, fairground on the front etc. Head south past the pyramid hotel and the beaches are powdery dunes, so beautiful, and a bit away from the crowds. Totally worth staying there a day to detox from the crowds of Disney!

That really does sound lovely, thank you.

Definitely something to think about for the way back 🙂

We stay here. It doesn’t break the bank and it’s nice to have the indoor pool after a long journey! www.tilques.najeti.fr/en/hotel
