Palazzo Abadessa in Cannareggio area is wonderful. It has the bonus of a shady little garden as well as a lovely location on a peaceful canal, beautiful rooms etc.

Evidence - we’re not going until July!

Are you really really sure you want to go in July?

Place will be heaving, you will be carving out your tiny patch to stand on in San Marco and it will be boiling hot. Plus the waters may smell.

Although if coronavirus has scared people away, it might be nicer.

I know you can't move your wedding anniversary but Venice is far more enjoyable earlier or later in the season.

We’re going first few days of July.

We were in Venice in July a few years ago and it was reasonably busy but not heaving by any means and no smelly water.

It was very hot but lots of cool shady cafes.

Loved it!
