ANY experience with on the beach?

I’m looking at booking a holiday, I’ve found the holiday I want but Its through on the beach. I checked them out on trust pilot and a few bad reviews said that they were called after booking by on the beach to be told their holiday went up and they would have to pay extra if they still want to go. Has anyone had any experience with them? I don’t want to risk it but I’m after a certain hotel so limited where I can do it.

I would be booking both the flight and accommodation myself, you do not need them to do it for you. Such companies act as agents, they are the middleman.

Such companies too do not act like the traditional package holiday tour operator. They are an online dynamic package operator and the terms and conditions for such holidays are far different from what is offered by a traditional high street tour operator.

We've only used them once but had zero issues. We picked a holiday online, waited the 24 hours or so you need to wait for the confirmation, then once that came through, it all went fine. I'd use them again.

YappityYapYap · 11/02/2020 09:20

I've used them with no issues

purpleboy · 11/02/2020 09:24

We used them once nearly 10 years ago. The hotel we booked got cancelled 1 week before our holiday but we were able to book another almost identical hotel so wasn't the end of the world. The rebooking was all done swiftly, but I wouldn't use them again, as next time we might not be so lucky.

Agree with pp book the flights and hotel separately its saves a lot of money, and use a credit card then you have some protection should anything go wrong.

PumpkinP · 11/02/2020 11:44

I can’t book them separately as I need to pay off, if I booked separately I would need to pay it all in one go and I’m paying for myself and 4 children so not easy to pay it all upfront.

I've been worrying about booking my holiday for the exact same reasons. I booked it on Sunday through love holidays as I thought you've got to book it with someone . Fingers crossed .

littlequestion · 11/02/2020 11:53

I book things separately - many hotels let you pay on arrival. I pay for the flights, then save up for the hotel bill

Miltonj · 11/02/2020 12:04

Used them before - absolutely no issues, would use them again.

Lightsabre · 12/02/2020 15:42

Have used them a lot for European holidays - no issues. Book with a credit card for extra protection.

ACurlyWurly · 12/02/2020 16:02

be aware that if you pay in instalments they charge you about £5 for each payment which puts the price up a bit. At the moment their online payment service is down so i have to call to pay. haven't been yet but am hoping for good results.

Bibidy · 12/02/2020 16:04

I've booked my last 3 holidays with them and had no issues at all. I booked transfers separately as I could find them cheaper, but apart from that I was pleased with how easy it all was.

WhatsWhat456 · 12/02/2020 16:08

I booked a package holiday last minute with them October half term to Egypt. It had the same Atol/Abta protection certificate I usually get with TUI. Our flights and hotel were actually TUI and the transfer I booked with them was a private mini bus and only cost £60 return for 5 people, I booked it all together making it a package.

loutypips · 12/02/2020 16:08

I've had no problems, but a friend had a phonecall to say the price had gone up.
One plus to booking with them is that most (not all, so do check!) holidays are atol protected. So if they go bust, or one of the suppliers they are using, your money is protected whereas if you booked separately you'd loose it all.

WhatsWhat456 · 12/02/2020 16:10

We did have to add hold luggage where if I had booked it through TUI that was included in the price. We paid £2000 for 5 people 5* hotel 3dc 2 adults, the exact same last minute deal with TUI was £3500 for comparison.

PumpkinP · 12/02/2020 20:09

We went with tui in the end, with the free child places so didn’t pay too much!
