Amsterdam Recommendations

I have a couple of days in Amsterdam soon and an looking for recommendations. I've pre-booked the Anne Frank museum, also thinking of Van Gogh, maybe a boat trip.
Also looking for reasonably priced but nice places for evening meals as one of my friends has a birthday while we are there.
Any recommendations, hints and tips gratefully received.

There’s quite a cool immersive art exhibition at Moco. I’d also recommend the Heineken Experience.
PANCAKES Amsterdam has an amazing menu and is pretty reasonable. Carousel Pancake House is by the Heineken Experience. You can get a range of sweet and savoury pancakes there, but don’t leave without trying poffertjes. CT Coffee and Coconuts serve exceptional coffee and it’s in an old movie theatre. For a nice meal, Canvas is good and it’s got a great view. We also like The Pool.

Depending on your interest, the Resistance Museum is great

We also loved the synagogue but found the Jewish museum quite overwhelming, there is just too much to see. Interesting how the Jewish communities evolved in the Netherlands but after a while it was hard to remember what you see and read.

An Indonesian Rijsttafel might make a lovely birthday meal ?

Ann Frank wasn't for us. We felt the Heineken museum wasn't that good either, its nice to get a boat ride or just wander.
We got the local bus from the station and went to Marken
Get the boat to Volendam

Then Bus to Edam its just a nice place to see, but if you catch a festival is a great day out

Then bus back

We were there in 2005, so it may not still be there but we had the best steaks ever tasted at Gauchos.
