Hi all
I am liking the look of soller and port de soller in Majorca, has anyone got any advice please or can recommend areas, I have been looking at villas uphill near jumeirah hotel in port de soller but am unsure just how much of a walk it would be to the beach and food / wine shops more importantly.
Soller looked lovely but I’m unsure about travelling by bus or train to the coast,
Thankyou 😊

It's an easy walk to the port from the Jumeirah.

I’ve stayed twice over the years, tho not recently. We stayed in Soller. We did walk to the port but with beach things, it’s probably best to get the old wooden tram. It feels like it’s going thru people’s gardens at some points on the journey!
If you stay in Soller itself, you get the benefit of the sweet little square each evening with the restaurants and kids playing safely. But then, if you stay at the port, it’s so handy for your day at the beach. I guess it depends on how you’ll split your time.

Google Soller tram

I don't think the tram is intended to be used for normal transport, more of an 'interesting activity' type thing, which costs a few euros per person per trip, so will really add up if you're doing it nearly every day.

If it is indeed an easy walk to the port from the Jumeirah, I'd probably get a villa there and plan to spend a day or two in Soller town during the holiday.

Be aware that, while lovely, Puerto Soller is quite expensive for eating out, even by Mallorca standards, which are noticeably higher than mainland Spain or Canaries.

We stayed at the Esplendido a couple of years back, in the port. Couldn’t have had a better holiday. Whilst food is expensive by Spanish standards, we found it to be very good quality and still cheaper than comparable uk places.

The public bus service is very good.
