Are The Faroes expensive?

Like, madly exey? DS will have accommodation but will need to show financial 'willing' while staying with a mate.

I recall, way back, while backpacking in Asia, a 'thing'. A dorm bed would cost $10. Someone would kindly put us up, for a night or two. Then we'd feel obligated to buy them a $20 gift in thanks....

Googling Faroes costs brings up a lot of useful looking websites.

Might be more successful than hoping that a Mumsnetter who has been to somewhere quite obscure sees your post and replies?

Faroese mumsnetter here. Compared to the UK the Faroes are expensive, yes. But it's an amazing travel destination, especially in the summer. I'm biased, of course.

Accommodation is very pricey, so it's lucky that he doesn't have to pay for that.
To put it into perspective, I'd say that my weekly shop in the UK is double the price in the Faroes. Does he drink? Alcohol is stupidly expensive unless he goes to one of the clubs or bars who sometimes offer all you can drink for a set price.
What is he keen to do while there?

Thanks! I will ask my DS about what he might do.

My DS isn't a big drinker, but his mate does mention how many drunks tumble off paths and thence over the cliffs to their deaths!
