Algarve recommendations?

Never been but fancy the Algarve for this summer, no idea where to start looking!

Criteria

  1. Walkable to a lovely beach
  2. Near to a village/town with restaurants etc
  3. Kid friendly hotel or apartment complex with football (small is fine) pitch for football daft 8 year old (maybe this should be #1?!?)
  4. don’t mind board basis but would rather not be tied to AI

No fixed budget - I guess mid range accommodation?

Any suggestions welcome!

I’d definitely recommend Vila Vita Parc, which ticks all your boxes I think. Also look at Alfagar Aparthotel and Alfagar Village.

A lot of the hotels in Alvor, or Olhos d'agua would fit your criteria.

Carvoiero is a lovely little town with a beach.

Eden Resort is beautiful. We go AI but other boarding arrangements available.
It’s not on a beach but there’s a shuttle bus to and from it and the taxis are only a few euros. It takes maybe 5 minutes to get there.
Apparently it was originally built as timeshare, which means the apartments are huge.
There is an Astro pitch for football and the entertainers weren’t too full on.

Look at Falésia Garden Olhos D Agua B&B basis (breakfasts are lovely lots of choice). Large room, lovely beach below, nice pool, mixed age activities organised throughout the day (including football), nice restaurants and scenery.
