Two years ago DC1 took GCSEs and I’m still shuddering at the memory.
This year DC2 takes GCSEs at the same time as DC1 takes A Levels and the only silver lining in what’s going to be a nightmarish 5 months is the prospect of a cheap(er) term-time family holiday once they’re all finished.
Without boring you with sob stories it’s been a very very tough year for us all and we could really do with a lovely relaxing holiday as a family (the 2 DC, DH and me). On the upside, we could spend a decent amount if necessary - maybe five thousand? I’m guessing that would go quite a long way outside school holidays.
I think a villa holiday would be good but I’ve never done one of them before and I’m overwhelmed. Does anyone fancy doing a bit of fantasy shopping for me? Or has anyone been anywhere lovely recently. Places with other teens might be nice but by no means obligatory. Nowhere where we’d have to drive every day to get anywhere. Ideally somewhere where we could do a couple of cultural day trips and/or go for nice walks.
Both DC are autistic so standard assumptions about what teens want to do will not necessarily hold good - I just want a big varied list of lovely (bargainaceous) holidays to put in front of the family for them to choose between.
Only other stipulation is not anywhere that’s crazy hot in early July, so not Middle East/Turkey. Really lovely UK cottages also an option.
Thanks in advance.
