Flying to Ghana via Paris on Thursday and Air France have offered an upgrade to business for £400 return each. Would you?

Hopefully this isn’t an evening flight from London to Ghana with AF. They take over 27 hours

Unless you deliberately book a flight that strands you in CDG overnight it doesn't! Flight time is 90 minutes to Paris and 6 1/2 hours to Accra.

I was going to say - are you 100% sure it's return - it's very rare for them to offer 'return' Business Class upgrades. If it is - it's a very good deal - also make sure if it says 'upgrade' it doesn't just mean 'upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy'.

Personally it's not so hot for the outbound (a day flight) but it is for the return (a night flight) - £200 each per way includes lounges in UK & Paris (well worth it), great food, flat/angle flat beds on the long haul, and fast track immigration - which is fab. Drink a couple of bottles of champagne, use all the perks, and I think it's worth it, especially as i'm not a fan of transitting at CDG.

But as always with these things, it depends how well you can afford the money!

I've occasionally splurged on business class for the trip out, so I get decent sleep before the first day on holiday. It usually costs much the same as the return ticket did, and only for one way.

I don't mind coming back in normal seats, unless it's over 16 hours.
