Family(x4) possibly All Inclusive? June ?

Please can you recommend an all inclusive? Or cheap alternative.

We could go for a villa, I suppose? Or any other option, I don't think we'd be able to afford a cruise, would we?

Eldest finishes GCSE's early and youngest finishes SAT's - so for this year alone we can actually go in term time. So most other children will still be at school.

So I should get a good price right? At the end of June.

So far? Nope!

Please advise.

It depends what you view as a good price and what you want.

I can see lots at less than £500pp all inclusive in the canaries for a week. I'd said that's a decent deal including flights and transfers

Dates? Budget? Departure airport?

crustycrab · 27/01/2020 18:53

Have a look at jet2. Also source a £60 off voucher (friends, eBay etc) if you book with them

Oblomov20 · 27/01/2020 20:56

London airports. 24th June, give or take 3 or 5 days.

2 x ds, 16 & 11.

7-10 days.

I really don't mind where.

I've checked most websites. I haven't found much. I honestly don't have much of a budget. £3k tops?

I'd recommend jet2 holidays. Good baggage allowance and the resort check in is fantastic.

How about this?

Fuerteventura is great. For a busier resort look at Corralejo. You can hire pedalos on the beach for 15 euros

Oblomov20 · 28/01/2020 07:36

Thank you crab.
I had looked at jet2. But hadn't found much. It seemed so expensive.

Many websites suggested turkey. Supposedly 4 star or 5 star, but when I trip advisor the hotels, even the more expensive ones, it said they were truely dire, Russian and German guests pushing their children, staff not speaking English at all.

Even the canary islands fuerteVentura, where we've been before, looked poor, and turned out hotels claiming to have air con didn't. And food regurgitated and served the next day.

It all looks vile!

Plus, I always dreamed of going out of season. But the funny thing is, now I can, as a one off year, of having both kids finish school early this particular year, never to get repeated again, then everyone says, out if season there's no entertainment, less good options, and it's bleak, quiet and dismal!

The irony! Eh?

If you're on a budget and nice food is important to you, don't go all inclusive.

On the beach is good for searching for various options, even if you don't use it to book as is sometimes cheaper to book the flights direct and use something like booking.com to book your accommodation. But worth checking both ways.

If you self cater and plan to eat out once a day, then have easy food in the accomodation, or snacks like ice creams, pizza slice etc, it's not too much work if everyone does their share and a much nicer experience than mid range AI.

We stayed here in Playa Blanca Lanzarote.

Nice little villa on a complex with a private pool, supermarket over the road, walking distance to marina, beaches, restaurants and lots of other things to do nearby, waterpark, boat trips, watersports or you can go a little further afield and see the volcano park, caves etc.

You will be paying for 3 adults and 1 child which will bump the prices up .

June will be cheaper than July August. Cheaper again would be bed and breakfast .

But then it depends on how much spending money you can take .

I'm going away in July with my dh . All inclusive for a week just under £1500 , so I would think you should be able to get something for 3 grand.

Thank you! Now I'm all confused! Grin

I'll take another look. Thanks!

You might find a cheap cruise, I would avoid P&O. Just have good root around, we have just been to Cyprus all inclusive, the food was good but as you say many are poor, we look on Sky scanner to see what's flying where, then looked for flights with Booking.com then added a hotel

Ha sorry, wrong thread.

Groovee · 30/01/2020 07:42

I've found every time we near brexit leaving dates the price shoots through the roof. It may be worth waiting a few weeks.

Try the Voyage chain in Turkey, been for 5 years on the trot, fabulous AI and food 😊

Oblomov20 · 30/01/2020 08:43

Interesting Groovee, hadn't thought if that!

That’s what you will get at a cheap AI resort. I agree with BarbaraofSeville. Nice food on a budget will not be found on an AI holiday. Depressingly, AI resorts are putting a lot of hotels and restaurants out of business. We had a fabulous holiday in Kos last year and the locals we spoke to hate the impact that AI resorts have had on the island.

If you self-cater and plan to eat out once a day, then have easy food in the accommodation, or snacks like ice creams, pizza slice etc, it's not too much work if everyone does their share and a much nicer experience than mid-range AI

And I agree with this ^^

I’d do a search on Skyscanner to see where you can fly to cheaply on your dates (put anywhere in the destination field) then have a look at Airbnb as well as comparison sites for hotels. You’ll need to do a bit of research but can get a really decent priced break this way even in school hols.
