Hi there, I am looking for advice on choosing our first holiday outside uk. We often youth hostel or rent cottage north Norfolk or wales so are looking for quiet area with food shops and beach . Kids are over 12 so not looking for kids clubs etc.

We have stayed in Cala Millor several times, its family orientated. From memory the local Dive school does a kids course which would keep them busy for a few days. Plenty of hotels and villas locally.
But if you want Proper Spain and not just tourism have a look at Cadiz, its a working port but with two beaches and all the usual stuff

What is it you want to do when away? Do you want to be surrounded with other people?

I love Menorca. It feels completely safe and the coves are beautiful, uncrowded and safe.

Hi morning ninja, my dh is a chef so looking in food markets and finding fresh seafood would be of interest, kids would enjoy beach and swimming and I like old towns to nosey around Smile

Not keen on driving abroad so would be looking for area with interesting things in walking distance , Thankyou for replying I don’t know much about menorca 😊

Puerto Pollensa or Alcudia would fit the bill for you. PP is smaller and quieter and is more family oriented than Alcudia but both are really close. The old towns of both Pollensa and Alcudia are great for a wander. Public transport is good and there are markets in the local area.
