Puglia, Italy

I've booked return flights to Bari and would like to see a bit of the Puglia region.

We're staying for a week so we're considering staying in 2 places probably Lecce and somewhere else too and do day trips to other towns.

I'm looking into getting the train from Bari airport to Lecce and use public transport to get about.

I'd love recommendations on where to stay and excursions too please?

Can’t help really other to suggest Matera? A friend went this summer and the pictures look great!

Thanks for that recommendation.

Hi @honeyrider I'm not sure if you went to Puglia in the end, but we did a trip last year with a new baby and posted about it here if you want to see an itinerary. We did places like Lecce, Monopoli and Grottaglie. Definitely worth getting a car to get around if you can because some of the things that are worth seeing are around 1-2 hrs apart.
