i need to get some euros but know i will probably get too many

so where will offer to buy them back at the same rate when i come back without me having to pay extra. travelex charge £3.50 to guarentee they will buy it back at the same rate.

You can never get too many euros, if you have any left over just keep them for your next holiday or trip. It's not like in the past when everyone had their own currency which often devalued or changed over the space of a few years (like the bloody 50ps in the UK!), now with euros you can use the same money on more occasions (eg. Spain one year, France the next or whatever). In fact, if you travel abroad often it makes sense to buy a load when the exchange rate is good and use up as and when.

we have nationwide current account that we only use for holiday money. transfer it in before hol, then get money out as and when you need it. you are not charged to withdraw money abroad, so you can get it out 20 euros at a time if the mood takes you. i am no expert, but the exchange rate never seems wildly different from what i was expecting and the money section of the guardian has recommended this method of obtaining euros on several occasions.
