Please help! My husband and I are very excited to be going to Kephalonia in June. I have been looking at accommodation - we want two centres, but my husband is very keen on a property that has a sunset - west facing. I have been looking on booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia, HomeandAway and I am now grinding teeth and pulling my hair out! Recommendations please? Max £100 per night, we will have a car, Self catering fine for part, would like pool or near to beach, quiet preferred. HELP

We stayed at the Moukis Sun Village in Lakithra, self catering apartments with a beautiful view and fantastic sunset.

I don't think you can go far wrong really! It's a beautiful island. We stayed near lixori which is a bit flatter than the rest of the island but lovely. The little town is nice and you can get the ferry over to argostoli which is a bigger town where turtles come and swim by the boats.

All the really stunning beaches are a bit out of the way - you need a car really on kefalonia.

We also went to fiskado which is more upmarket, very pretty and lots of nice restaurants etc. I think further towards the south are a bit more touristy beach places.

You will have a great time. 😌

We base ourselves in Agia Effemia and travel around to different places.

Fiskardo is fab but might be out of budget.

We stayed here. Immaculate. Private pool completely Unoverlooked. beach a short walk away but we drove to the best ones (google them).

There’s a hotel down the hill that you can go to for evening entertainment etc.

North is a bit more bijoux and stylish. South more touristy.
I enjoyed our holiday there but wouldn't go twice. Nice, friendly place. Hospitable to visitors.

thanks everyone! I will look up all the places recommended. Much appreciated.

Olive grove studios. Loved it there. Also there is a bit of a hidden beach about 30 mins walk away that is worth the trek

We stayed in Lixouri too. It's not west facing IIRC but watching the sky change colour and all the lights appearing on the mountains is v v pretty.

We've stayed in Lourdas and Lassi. The advantages of Lassi was that you can walk to Argostoli which is lovely for shopping and restaurants plus you can get a ferry to Lixouri. Lourdas is prettier but on a hill. We stayed years ago at Metaxatos apartments in Lassi. Away from the main strip, nice pool and views but basic studios. We did love it there though.

Make sure you hire a car and go exploring. Anti Samos beach is beautiful, quite a fun drive down to it though!!!! 🤪
