Fuerteventura - Caleta de Fuste - windy ???

We are thinking of travelling to Fuerteventura at the end of March with a 7-month yo baby, but we've heard this island is very windy. How bad is the wind? Is it bad everywhere on the island? I'm asking because we went to Las Palmas Gran Canaria last year around the same time and we hated Las Palmas. It was windy and overcast most of the time, and we had to travel south to Puerto Rico almost every day to enjoy some beach time in the sun.
We don't want to have the same problem in Fuerteventura.
What is Caleta de Fuste like?

Don't recall it being particularly windy, visited in September. Corralejo in the north had a definite breeze when I was there mid summer but it was welcome. It is the windiest island of the canaries hence why it's so popular with windsurfers! Not the best beaches for young children as the sea can be a bit choppy but not really a problem since yours is still baby. The resort itself is nice for families but do check you're getting a heated pool as most aren't. And obviously the weather can be unpredictable anywhere especially at that time of year. Personally I don't think you can beat the balearics for families with young children. The med is much calmer/warmer and full of sheltered coves.

We went to Caleta de Fuste in March with a 2 year old.

It wasn’t at all overcast, in fact some days it hit 40 degrees, however it didn’t feel like it because of the wind. We loved the island, Caleta itself was great, but the wind was terrible some days.

The pools were absolutely freezing, the sea was warmer but not much. With a 2 year old we had to make sure she had warm clothes to throw on as soon as she got out of the water - not that she spent much time in it!

As long as you can get out of the breeze you will be able to sunbathe, and it’s not so bad that you can’t explore etc.

Oh and the bay/beach in CdF is quite well protected, shallow and clean. The costal path is great and you can feed the wild chipmunks that live in the rocks!

We went to fuerteventura with 8 month old in late November. Had a great time, don't recall it being windy. The children's pool was cold but the adults Pool was warmer (it was higher) and there was lots of kids in there.
