Want to take DD, age 12, on a short break over Easter holidays.

Thinking go either Norway or Sweden. Anyone got any tips or recommendations on either country?

Love Sweden. We’ve done a couple of trips one to Gothenburg and further up and second to Oland proper back to nature holiday.

How many days do you think I would need in Gothenburg!

Years ago we did stockholm for 3 days, lovely, then went somewhere rural in some woods with a lake etc! Can’t remember the name though Blush

In Norway visited Bergen with a short trip to the fjords many years ago, was beautiful.

Same as @Dozer, I’ve been to Stockholm and Bergen (so can’t speak for the rest of Norway and Sweden!). I liked Stockholm a lot more than I thought I would and would really happily go back - it’s spread out across a series of islands, there was lots to do (boat trips, museums etc) and it has a real charm. We had 3 days there and could have stayed longer. It was expensive though but Bergen was just that bit more pricey. I’d been really looking forward to Norway and seeing the mountains and fjords but while Bergen was exceptionally pretty, it was ridiculously pricey and rained heavily every single day of the four days we were there. I appreciate Bergen gets more rain than elsewhere and I wouldn’t be adverse to seeing more of Norway but foul weather and paying £25 for a burger and chips in a Norway averagely priced restaurant hasn’t had me putting it immediately top of the list when we think of where we want to go to each year.
