Where is hot enough in April to sunbathe?

Just been looking at a luxury UK trip over Easter and started thinking actually 3/4 nights abroad probably wouldn’t cost much more.
Where can we go max 4 hour flight with a temperature above 20/22 degrees? Seville would be my top choice as I love it but keen to try somewhere else.

Lisbon
Malaga
Porto

Is google broken?

Four hour flight from where? Beginning of April or end?

As long as you head south and are starting southern UK then pretty much anywhere four hours away is going to be warm , unless the weather is rubbish, which is always a possibility.

I’m sure I read somewhere that Porto is very rainy in spring? Malaga could be a good option, will look at some options

Canaries?

I had 25c in Málaga one (late) Easter but it's not guaranteed and could easily be 19c.

Sorry 4 hours from London and Easter so mid April. Canaries could be an option if I can find reasonable enough flights at that time, Malaga or Valencia are looking to be a lot cheaper but haven’t looked into hotels yet

Morocco or Malta?

Honeyroar · 14/01/2020 23:10

You’d be better making the flight 6 hours and doing somewhere in the Middle East.

Honeyroar · 14/01/2020 23:13

Sardinia might be an option? Or Cyprus? But both could be colder if spring falls late. It’s on the borderline for European warm weather!

We were in Porto over New Years. It was 20’c+ beautiful sunshine. Sea was choppy though. Lots to see and do there.

katewhinesalot · 14/01/2020 23:14

Canaries are guaranteed warm weather.

GiantKitten · 14/01/2020 23:23

Costa del Sol can be that warm in April but I think it’s been a bit less reliable recently.

Try Madeira! We went in late January, most days were warm enough even then for some very hardy people to go into the sea. It’s about 3h30 from London & Funchal is a lovely city Smile

Ginfordinner · 14/01/2020 23:27

Morocco or any Canary Island.

GiantKitten · 14/01/2020 23:31

We had 2 weeks in Costa del Sol around a very late Easter - Easter Sunday was April 20th - in 2003. Second week we were in Marbella and the sand was literally too hot to walk on barefoot!

The other thing about Easter in Andalusia is the Semana Santa parades. They are magnificent, especially Easter Sunday. You’d get that in Seville Smile

LadyGAgain · 14/01/2020 23:44

Canaries are NOT guaranteed warm weather. We went at Easter and the pools were freezing. It is proper windy too. You're better off flying a couple more hours to Cape Verde's or Gambia or Abu Dhabi

EveryDayIsLikeMonday · 15/01/2020 00:21

It can also rain a lot and be quite chilly in Malaga/Costa del Sol in April... like 15/16 C. The Canaries are your best bet for warmth on a budget.

Having said that, there's loads to do in and around Malaga, even if the weather's bad. We're off there this Easter.

LR33 · 15/01/2020 00:32

Southern Spain.

We live in Costa Blanca and my partner is still sunbathing. 😂🙈

BonnesVacances · 15/01/2020 07:08

We go to Malaga every Easter. It's early 20s and bright blue skies. Nice enough to sit out in a T-shirt and soak up some rays, but not warm enough for bikini sunbathing. Plenty of folk on the beaches though, so it depends how hot you need it to be for all that.

BarbaraofSeville · 15/01/2020 08:54

Canaries are guaranteed warm weather

Not true. Could well be, but far from guaranteed. I'd go to Andalucia, whichever of Malaga, Granada or Seville has the best flights and then you can do the city break stuff and sit around in the sun if the weather is favourable.
