Washington plus beach holiday

Looking to go to Washington in June. Has anyone done a beach holiday combined. Don’t want to fly somewhere. Would like somewhere within 2-3 hours drive. Grateful for any suggestions. Thanks

Virginia or North Carolina? (Disclaimer - know the beaches are nice but no idea on distance)

It’s at least 4 hours to Virginia Beach. Delaware has beaches that are closer. South of Virginia Beach there are lots of seashore that’s varied. But that’s about another 90 miles south of VB.

Chincoteague is beautiful. Definitely recommend a stay in the area.

Washington, DC or Washington state? I live on the beach in Washington state. It’s beautiful.
