My parents are looking for a 5-day break within Europe over the Easter weekend so I thought I'd ask for some recommendations.
Ideally somewhere on the warm side - somewhere in between bikini on the beach and boots and overcoat. I was thinking Italy but can't pin down where - will everything be closed over Easter?
They like walking, culture (although not necessarily spending hours in museums), food, sightseeing, nice views. Generally they prefer being out and about and they like to cover the ground so potentially hiring a car and driving around, or even getting trains/buses is fine.
They've been to Madrid, Amsterdam, Krakow, Vienna, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Paris, Venice, the Italian Lakes, the Algarve, Seville, Granada, Naples/Capri, and are planning a longer trip to Croatia later in the year.
I was thinking along the lines of the Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre, Rome, Athens, Santorini, Cyprus, Sardinia or maybe Slovenia, but open to any and all suggestions.
