ESTA Visa for US - no expiry?

Hello, wondering if someone knows the answer to this or had it happen to them.
I applied for a group visa today for my family and successfully had them approved and authorised, only there isn't an expiry date next to the approval, it's just blank?
Does anyone know what this means?

I’m only guessing here - does it stay blank if everybody gets the default two years validity?

I wonder if it would show a date if somebody in the group had a passport which expired within the two years?

DurannieDeckingTheHalls · 11/01/2020 08:50

Think it's two years? I got an email to warn me ours ( arranged in 2018) was expiring shortly.....

TreesRUs · 11/01/2020 08:53

It’s 2 years. They don’t show you an expiry and they probably won’t remind you when it runs out... you used to not even get an email telling you it had gone through!

It’s all just on electronic systems.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 11/01/2020 08:53

It is determined that ESTA authorization is valid for two years for everybody, with no exceptions. However, if your passport will expire in less than two years, your ESTA also will expire on the same date as your passport.

AuntieMarys · 11/01/2020 08:54

I had an email last week telling me ours was due for expiry

FloofenHoofen · 11/01/2020 10:35

So it's two years even if the expiry box is completely blank? I did kind of assume this but wasn't sure.
I have emailed them just in case, because their FAQ says I should be able to log in and view the expiry.

I done mine last month and mine had an expiry date. Maybe they have changed it?

Ah never mind! Just logged into the desktop version of the site and it has now popped up! It doesn't seem to be showing on my mobile though. Very strange.

US immigration haven’t optimised very well for mobile Wink

HairyFloppins · 11/01/2020 23:04

Glad it's shown up now. I don't trust myself to do the ESTA on a mobile always use the PC Grin

AttilaTheMeerkat · 12/01/2020 09:29

Did you use the US official government based website?.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 12/01/2020 09:31

The ESTA will not likely ever show on your mobile anyway; the tech has not caught up. I would print out the approvals and show them to the immigration officer if requested.

BritWifeinUSA · 12/01/2020 13:30

It’s not a visa, by the way. The ESTA is just a ore-clearance to allow you to board the plane and present yourself at CBP to request admission without a visa. Many people think it’s a visa and that they have some kind of guarantee that they will be admitted into the country. Not so.

FloofenHoofen · 16/01/2020 11:42

Yes sorry @BritWifeinUSA I know it's pre-clearance. I never said I was guaranteed entry. I asked about the missing expiry.

And yes I did use the official website.
