Ikos or Sani resorts?

Hello!

We are looking to take our toddler on a short haul holiday just before she turns 2 years old and looking at resorts like Ikos or Sani for May/June 2020. Have you been? What are your thoughts?

Has anyone got similar family friendly holiday recommendations? Looking for some luxury.

Thanks!

We went to Ikos with my 18 month old in August. Lots of shallow pools to use for him.
Poolside service and very accommodating- when I requested snacks for the little guy.

There was a playground with covered play area with a slide etc.

Lots of walks with the baby in and out the pushchair.

Evening entertainment was available and we took him to the shows with music and dancing etc.

Super kid friendly. There is a childcare available at cost but we didn’t use this.

We also had the beach to play and there is like a supervised play space for older kids but I went with my toddler and we used the available sand castle building equipment and colourings and crayons.

Because it was luxury all inclusive it was awesome - nothing they wouldn’t do for us.

Sani is on the same level (maybe better!) but it’s not all inclusive I think whereas ikos only has the all inclusive option.

We would definitely go again!

We stayed at Sani Beach last summer and it was off the scale, we’d absolutely return if we could afford it.

We stayed at the Beach hotel because it had the splashzone water play area for the little one which was easily accessible and the pool staff wandered around collecting your drinks and snacks etc and on some days there was even a woman dressed in a summer version of a tuxedo cleaning clients sunglasses!!

The kids club was very well run and the security side of it was very good with passwords, gates and set drop-off and collection times.

The spa was good and clean and treatments were on a par with the UK.

The food, cleanliness, attitude of staff was faultless. Our daughter was treated to a hot chocolate one evening when she was chilly and blankets are available if you need them if al-fresco. We’re now friends with that staff member solely on how she adored our child. I know that sounds ridiculous but when you have someone who cares for your child like that, it says something.

If you can picture it, you have the beach at the front with the restaurants behind, then the pools and then there are several good play areas with sand instead of grass that are supervised by staff from early evening so you can have a break! It’s all very safe.

The open air theatre in the grounds provide great entertainment with sofas and chillout zones with a bar at the back for the adults while the children can sit close to the stage and watch a production of Disney musicals where characters mingle with children in the audience. It was so much fun.

You need to book some restaurants but equally you can just turn up at a lot. They cater very well for allergies and for me they caught me at every meal to give me something especially made because of an allergy despite my telling them not to.

We made some great friends and still see a few of the families regularly now.

We stayed at the Asterias Suites when they were adults only upon first opening many, many years ago. The standard hasn’t changed which was my concern.

The only thing we found confusing was the meal plan. Mind boggling and in the end we gave up trying to work it out. Next time we’ll go Full Board to save the Confusedfaces amongst us!

We stayed at Ikos, which was so good we've booked another of theirs next year.

Visited Sani for the day to go scuba diving. It seemed nice, and a family we met who were staying there said it was amazing.

But as mentioned above, the all inclusive nature of Ikos was phenomenal, they simply could not do enough for us.

Thank you all! I've booked Porto Sani for summer while DD is still quite young, but will definitely check out Ikos for next year, or the other Sani resorts which seem more entertaining for the older ones x
