My PIL are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary and are looking for nice places to see, eat and sleep in Devon and Cornwall...no babies with them
As I have never been... I don't know what to suggest but I am sure there must be local mumsnetters or some who have been on romantic trips pre-kids

Many thanks

Fingals is an unusual hotel with lots of character near Dittisham/Dartmouth.(www.fingals.co.uk).The food is fine but there are even better places to eat such as the Carved Angel in Dartmouth.

As I come from down there - here goes.

Gidleigh Park Hotel near Chagford - Stunning Food.

The Imperial Hotel Torquay. Lovely Afternoon Tea.

The Horn of Plenty nr Tavistock.

To eat only The Carved Angel Dartmouth.

I can recommend all of the above as I was a late starter with children but early with lurve YUK!

Loved the (Lost) Gardens of Heligan, and the Eden Project was fascinating,

Also Lanhydrock House, NT House and Gardens, was worth a visit

St Ives is great for little galleries and the Tate and Barbara Hepworth museum
