Holidays
Greek Island - Corfu or Zante perhaps - any ideas?

Trying to narrow down a place for a summer break so wondering if I can pick your brains - there might be a few of these on the horizon grin
We have had Corfu or Zante recommended to us but I don't want to go to the horribly tacky places full of pissed up teenagers. Looking for a family friendly resort that has beach, lots of nice al fresco dining and maybe some water sports on offer.
Accomodation recommendations also welcome - would prefer 2 bedrooms so probably looking at a villa / aprtment type thing rather than 2 hotel rooms but deffo needs a pool.

Crete is lovely - best food of all the islands, stays warm longest as it's the furthest south, and outside of Malia (and poss. Hersonnisos) definitely no pissed teenagers. Friendly and very Greek.
Check out Rethymnon, it has a lovely old town and a long beach with plenty of watersports. It's a working town and a university town so there are lots of young people but no pissed up British teenagers, it's a good but fairly chilled nightlife.
Chania is similar but larger, not sure what the beach is like, it's also where one of the airports is so really short transfer time.

Paxos should suit you - fly into Corfu and then a ferry across
The capital Gaios is the busiest town with lots of eateries

Have a look at Stefanos, Arillas and Agios Gordios in Corfu. Not sure about water sports but they have everything else you want.

Arillas would suit perfectly. The long bay has shallow waters which are sandy underfoot, water-sports, ample eateries, many along the seafront offering wonderful views over to the offshore islands...and don’t forget the sunsets!
Should you not wish to hire a car an airport transfer by taxi will cost will cost 58€ each way.
There are lots of lovely walks around Arillas, many further afield should you wish to venture further.
I have a property in Arillas therefore know the area and the island very well...feel free to ask questions.

Jane McDonald did a programme on Channel 5 on Friday night that was based in Corfu. Looked amazing, and she found a fab hotel.

I've been to both kefalonia and kos. Didn't see any pissed up teenagers. Loads of beautiful al fresco water side dining in kefalonia. I didn't notice any water sports but I wasn't on the look out for them.

Kefalonia is absolutely stunning, I would highly recommend a holiday there. We've been twice and planning a third 😊

Paros is beautiful - sugar cube houses, narrow winding streets (to confuse pirates, apparently), windmills, good food. Bit upmarket and full of Greek and Italian families.

Second to San Stefanos in North East Corfu. Bit of an older crowd for the most part but families go too. Lovely and tranquil with amazing views. Been 3 times and want to go back with DD next year.

Kalami - north Corfu - good waterskiing or as above Paxos - we stayed in Lakka
