Cruise

Does the 12 yo want to be in kids clubs? Although they exist, they aren't well frequented in that age group. I'd choose somewhere big and busy where hopefully there will be others around the pool in the same age range. All inclusive hotels tend to keep people on site.

Morenia resort in Podaca, Croatia has an inflatable waterpark in the sea. Thefe is a kids club and older kids have a club with the latest computer games consoles and movies.
Sun Gardens Dubrovnik has summer camps for ages 7-15 years in football, swimming, tennis, basketball and even water polo or a mixture of all. There's also a sports complex plus watersports on the private pebble beach.

Neilsons

Thanks for ideas. I will have a look. Last year we went to an all inclusive resort and he went to the club but not many other kids there. Most kids around the pool were younger, so lots of requests for his iPad... I had a look at Club Med but seems to be mainly sailing and I was hoping for a few more activities

Mark Warner or Neilsons?

Sailing holidays (Neilson or similar) are brilliant for this age group. They get to sail, swim, dive, paddleboard and snorkel. At different beaches, explore caves etc, learn to sail and meet other children in the flotilla. I've been in the med a couple of times with my children and they love it.

Might be worth looking around as some resorts offer PADI diver training courses for kids, that would keep him entertained and give him some street cred, Daughter did hers aged 8 son was about 14 I think?

I was also going to suggest Mark Warner. We went 5 times when our eldest DC was aged 12-15. Club Med are good but tend to have less children from the Uk. The on we went to in Italy (it’s now a Tui resort) had excellent activities but over 90% of the guests were French so my DC did find it difficult to make friends.
I agree with the other poster who recommended cruises for DC that age. There is so much to do and see.
