Exotic, beautiful beach, a bit remote

Due to fly on honeymoon today to Mauritius but a very poorly baby meant a change of plans. Looking to rebook for end of April and maybe something a bit different.

We want a bit remote, not commercial touristy type place, beautiful beaches, maybe a bit of wildlife, HOT (30ish), not longer than 14 hours or so flight

Currently looking at Philippines, Madagascar and Seychelles. So any info on these or places I wouldn't have thought of?

Thank you!

Vietnam would be worth looking at. Bai Sao Beach in Phu Quoc is beautiful and has temperatures of about 33 degrees in April.

marialuisa · 29/12/2019 15:59

I thought Bai Sao was quite grubby and commercialised although we had a fun day watching the bridal photo shoots on the swings. There are beautiful beaches on Phu Quoc, just not white sand. Chen Sea spa is a lovely place to stay on the island.

Zanzibar would work if it weren’t rainy season in April....Langkawi might be ok still?

Are you taking the baby?
Just wondering about need for vaccinations, malaria tablets and healthcare facilities.
What's your budget?

Icklepickle101 · 29/12/2019 18:15

No baby. She will be staying with grandparents. Probably about 6k for a week/10 days

With that budget I'd go for

Nosey Be
One of the private islands off Mozambique
Pemba
But you can't fly direct which can be a pain

Seychelles Out islands, fly direct with BA

Or would you consider the Caribbean? The smaller island are gorgeous but possibly more touristy than you'd want. The Grenadines or BVIs might fit but again no direct flights.

BubblesBuddy · 30/12/2019 00:03

You might get a decent deal in the BVIs or Grenadines though. It’s worth the second flight!!! I like Virgin Gorda (Little Dix bay) and there are other romantic hotels in the BVIs. You might be able to rent a small villa too. Many have pools.

Radhhanagar Beach, Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar- insanely beautiful and off the beaten path.

We’re off to the Cape Coast in Ghana.

Sorry firstly that you’ve had to cancel & hope baby is on the mend. How about Tangalle down on the South Coast in Sri Lanka? We were there for 4 days this April and it’s lovely. Not overspoilt, beautiful & often empty beaches and the weather will be in the thirties. From Tangalle you could do a days safari to Udawalawe National Park to see wild elephants, buffalo etc. The foods great and won’t break the bank. Our hotel had a restaurant on the beach & you could see the occasional turtle bobbing about in the waves which was just great!

Japan

I've really struggled with finding accommodation in the BVI. I think most are still rebuilding Sad

Andaman Islands looked perfect but the travel is a bit of a nightmare, about 20 hours which is a lot for a week holiday!

Off to continue research

Sri Lanka would be perfect - Galle area, Unawatuna beach/Dellawalla beach are gorgeous. Weather would be great and direct flights.

BubblesBuddy · 31/12/2019 09:17

Not sure where you are looking then regarding BVIs. Booking.com have quite a few. Just checked for April. However you are quite late booking!

Barbados is beautiful.

mummy21l · 31/12/2019 09:28

Maldives without a doubt! Absolutely stunning perfect for locking yourself away!

BlouseAndSkirt · 31/12/2019 09:28

Mauritius sounds a good option!
East coast.

Petit St Vincent www.petitstvincent.com/ in The Grenadines. Cotton House or Firefly on Mustique. Or a combo of both.
Well worth the 45/ 50 mins flight on from Barbados.
